Under Scan is a large scale, outdoor interactive video installation by Mexican-Canadian artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer. Commissioned specially for the East Midlands region of England, Under Scan will be installed in five cities in the region and active for ten nights in each of the cities, starting at dusk.
Using the latest media technology and the brightest projector in the world, thousands of video-portraits of local people will be projected and activated inside the shadows, establishing uncanny relationships of embodiment and play in public spaces. Lozano-Hemmer has forged a global reputation through work in more than 25 countries, deploying cutting edge techniques to win major international commissions and awards.
Take this opportunity to climb aboard the free Radiator bus at Broadway to visit Under Scan on its last installation day in Lincoln. After the hour long journey, you will have one and a half hours to explore the installation and this historic city.
